Welcome

In a world where everything around us teaches a "me first" attitude and ideas about what is to be valued seems so out of sorts, it can be difficult to teach our children where life's true meaning lies. Possessions come and go, but God's love remains with us always. As Jesus said in Matthew 6: 19-21, "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

This little blog is designed to be a treasure map for the great adventure that is life, leading you and your child to find the wonderful treasure that awaits us when we live our lives for Christ. There will be at least one entry a week that will either provide a kid-friendly meditation or activity or maybe even both based on a passage of scripture. From time to time there may also be ideas about traditions or special celebrations that you could start with your family.

I hope that you will find valuable, practical lessons about faith in these words as well as opportunities for you and your family to live out your faith in tangible ways your children can understand and appreciate, and that you and your child will be encouraged as you seek after the treasure of God's love.
